| Ms Pet obtained her bachelor degree from Griffith University (Australia). She has been working in Siu Lun Court Kindergarten since 1999 and is one of the English Panels now. She is currently studying a course in Child Care and Education. Her teaching philosophy in education is not only learning from books but also learning through play. When children play together, they learn how to interact with others, how to settle a disagreement amicably and sharing. |
Ms Sandy acquired her teaching qualification through the Open University of Hong Kong. She has lots of valuable experiences teaching young children English as a second language. She is one of the English Panels and she is mainly responsible for English curriculum planning, review and monitoring. Her leadership abilities combine to our solidarity that has made our English Drama Club win many awards in different competitions in the past years. |
Ms Katie comes from the South of England. She is the teacher responsible for writing and preparing the K3 English Lessons, she is also one of the teachers that helps the English drama club. Ms Katie enjoys working with the whole day class children and seeing how their English languages skill improves over the course of the year. She studied Childcare and Education, during this she studied the unit of teaching children with English as an additional language in which she has been able to put a lot of the knowledge that she has learnt into practice. |
Mr. KC as a Chinese raised and educated overseas, he knows the importance of the English language as an international medium of communication and learning. |
Ms Tracey from New Zealand has been teaching English in Siu Lun Kindergarten since 2004 with 7 years of teaching English experience for the age 3-5 years old. Her work involved teaching oral and reading stories through many different variety games and activities. She finds the children are more advanced and have more opportunities to learn English and is amazed at how bright and willing the children are to learn and have satisfaction to see the children progress days by days. |
Miss Ivy is from England. She graduated from Birmingham City University in Fashion Design and Fashion Communication - BA (Hons). She is an English and Visual Art teacher. She is responsible for preparing the materials and writing lesson plans for both English and Art lessons. As an English teacher she teaches children phonics and basic language skills such as listening, speaking and reading. She always encourages children to speak and communicate using English. Through fun games, stories, songs and visual audios children will be able to learn English with her in a relaxed environment, giving them opportunities to interact with each other. Whilst fulfilling this post Miss Ivy has learnt to love the job, this is evident through her patience and caring attitude towards the children. |
Mr. Felix has been educated overseas for many years. He has obtained a Bachelors degree from Middlesex University in the UK and another Postgraduate Diploma in TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) from CUHK. Furthermore, Mr. Felix is enthusiastic towards working with children, and believes that there is a capacity to learn from each child since they are unique. Alongside his qualifications, Mr. Felix’s experience in the commercial world has led him to believe the significance of English and wishes that he can do his best to ensure students receive an adequate amount of exposure to the language through various teaching methods and materials. |
Mr Darragh |
Mr. Darragh comes from Ireland where he has previously worked for the government. He has been in Hong Kong for 5 years, and has worked in kindergartens, primary schools and language centres. Mr. Darragh has obtained a TEFL qualification. He has an energetic approach to teaching, and believes that the learning experience can be greatly enhanced through interactive and engaging lessons. |
Ms Tanja is from South Africa and has been living in Hong Kong for the past 6 years. She studied Tourism in South Africa and obtained her TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Certificate and Young Learners Certificate while in Hong Kong. Ms Tanja also coaches rugby to the Under 7 South Lantau Buffaloes Rugby Team. During her leisure time Ms Tanja enjoys doing outdoor activities like hiking and swimming. As she is a mother of a 7 year old boy, she can associate with the little children and understand their needs. Her passion is teaching young children English and she has been working with them for the past 3.5 years. It is rewarding for her to see how the young children begin to understand and speak English. |
